TRIPURA: Two dozen CPI (M) supporters were injured in the stone pelting of locals on a protest rally organized by the CPI (M) in demand for investigation of the Rafael Deal in Belonia of the state’s southern Tripura district.
SP Superintendent J. A. Mina told that the CPI (M) supporters had taken a rally from the party office in Belonia in the morning. But after some distance, a group of about 25 people started pelting on the rally. They said that due to the intervention of the police, the situation was immediately suppressed.
CPI (M) local secretary Tapas Dutt blamed the BJP for the attack. He said that under the banner of Jan Ekta Diksha Manch, the BJP supporters attacked on the communist rally. Two dozen leaders and supporters of the party have been injured in this attack.
He alleged that during the stone pelting, the police officers remained silent spectators. The party has lodged a report against the ten BJP supporters for being involved in this attack.
On the other hand, BJP spokesman Ashok Sinha has termed CPI (M)’s allegations as baseless. He said that fabrication of fabricated charges has now become the habit of the CPI (M). The BJP did not include any supporters in this attack. The BJP can not be held responsible for attacks from the locals.
