Indian Navy Can Now Access Duqm Port of Oman For Military Use

New Delhi : India signed a key pact with Oman on Monday when prime minister Narendra Modi was on his visit to Oman where both nation signed a military pact that allows Indian military vessels to use the strategically located duqm port.

The Duqm port is located in the southeastern coast of oman and is strategically important because of its location which will allow India to counter china in Indian ocean. As well as to keep a check on chabahar port in Iran which India is helping to develop, and the gwadar port of pakistan, which is developing by beijing’s help and is part of Cpec (china pakistan economic corridor) .

Apart from security, the two countries also discussed energy,food security and education related subjects.
